l’Opificio cushions take center stage at Palazzo Donizetti among international interiors and visions of Italian Grandeur
Once again, l’Opificio takes part in Milan Design Week 2026 through one of the most anticipated events of the Fuorisalone: L’Appartamento by Artemest, hosted in the historic Palazzo Donizetti, at Via Gaetano Donizetti 48, in the heart of the Porta Venezia Design District.
For its fourth edition, Artemest introduces a new curatorial chapter centered around Italian Grandeur: a tribute to the timeless charm of Italy’s artistic heritage, the evocative power of its architecture and the extraordinary craftsmanship that defines its identity.
Italian grandeur: memory, theatricality, elegance
The 2026 edition of L’Appartamento unfolds as an immersive journey inspired by the spirit of the Grand Tour, where design culture meets the memory of place. This year’s theme explores an idea of Italian elegance shaped by memory, theatricality, and refined design, giving interiors an intense and layered narrative quality.
Five prestigious international interior design studios have been invited to reinterpret, through a contemporary lens, some of Italy’s most emblematic cultural capitals: Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples, and Palermo. Each room becomes a tribute to its reference territory and to its long-standing artisanal traditions, creating a continuous dialogue between past and present.
l’Opificio Cushions Throughout the Interiors of Palazzo Donizetti
In this exceptional setting, l’Opificio cushions have been selected by some of the most important design studios involved in the 2026 edition. Integrated into the different rooms, they accompany the narrative of each space through their material and chromatic presence, adding depth, comfort and visual rhythm.
Our cushions furnish:
The Dining Room, designed by Rockwell Group – USA
The Salon, created by MAWD | March and White Design – London
The Games Room 1 and 2, curated by Charlap Hyman & Herrero – USA
The Bedroom, designed by Urjowan Alsharif Interiors – Dubai
Each cushion capsule enters into dialogue with a specific visual universe, becoming an integral part of the atmosphere and of the design narrative.
A Capsule Collection for the Courtyard Inspired by Pompeii
Alongside the interiors, the dialogue between l’Opificio and Artemest extends to the outdoors as well. Together with Artemest’s creative team, we have developed a capsule collection for the courtyard installation, inspired by the theme of Pompeii.
This special project uses textile to evoke a scenic and material imagination, balancing classical references with a contemporary sensibility. The result is a space that interprets Mediterranean heritage through surfaces, colours, and details, transforming the courtyard into a fully immersive experience.
Within L’Appartamento by Artemest, textile is never just an accessory. It becomes a narrative presence, a connecting element between furniture, architecture, and atmosphere. l’Opificio cushions accompany each room with a visual language made of texture, colour, and comfort, helping define the character of every interior.
It is precisely in this dialogue between design and material that our idea of interior takes shape: a design language that is welcoming, cultured and deeply contemporary.
