l’Opificio @ Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026

l’Opificio at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 with the new collections by Chiara Andreatti

On the occasion of Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, l’Opificio unveils a new collaboration with Chiara Andreatti, a designer whose work brings together a cultured, essential, and distinctly contemporary vision. This collaboration introduces three new textile collections — INCISA, SIGNUM and FIORA — conceived to expand the company’s decorative language and open up new design possibilities for both residential and contract interiors.

Alongside these new proposals, l’Opificio also renews its Velvet Icons, with a restyling of the iconic VELLUTO DI SETA and VELLUTO DI COTONE collections. At the same time, the fair stand, designed by STUDIOTAMAT, becomes a true contemporary textile laboratory.

Three new collections by Chiara Andreatti

The collaboration with Chiara Andreatti marks an important step in l’Opificio’s creative journey. Her design language is translated into surfaces that do more than decorate: they shape space, rhythm and atmosphere.

As Paola Bertoldo, President of l’Opificio, explains:

“The collections designed by Chiara Andreatti for l’Opificio represent an important step in our creative journey. In Incisa, Signum and Fiora, we recognize a direct, clean and precise style, capable of expressing a contemporary elegance without excess. Chiara has been able to interpret our identity through an essential yet deeply expressive language, where textile material becomes a living surface, rhythm and light.”

INCISA

INCISA stems from a rarefied natural inspiration, somewhere between a marbled effect and the surface of bark. Irregular, slightly slanted marks follow one another in an organic balance that creates depth and continuous visual movement. It is a collection that works subtly on materiality, transforming fabric into a vibrant and sophisticated surface.

SIGNUM

More graphic and archetypal, SIGNUM evokes a primordial script made of doubled, slightly misaligned forms. The result is a rhythmic tension across the surface, capable of generating chromatic vibration and dynamism. It is a fabric that interprets the sign as language, structure and identity.

FIORA

With FIORA, the narrative becomes more poetic. Its floral pattern, with a textured and softly blurred mark, originates from an oil pastel gesture that preserves spontaneity and delicacy. The brushstrokes melt into adjacent shades and build a diffused luminosity that feels atmospheric rather than purely decorative.

Contemporary lampas fabrics for residential and contract interiors

The three collections are all developed using the lampas technique, with two or three wefts respectively and are produced in:

• linen and viscose

• cotton and viscose

• cotton chenille

Each collection comes in a wide range of color variations, designed to integrate naturally into both residential and contract projects. Technical research meets aesthetic sensibility, resulting in fabrics that interact beautifully with different environments, soft surfaces and architectural structures.

The restyling of the VELVET ICONS

Alongside the new collections, l’Opificio presents the renewal of its Velvet Icons, a foundational part of the company’s identity. The VELLUTO DI SETA and VELLUTO DI COTONE collections are updated with a new color palette that enhances their brilliance and material richness.

This restyling expands the compositional possibilities for architects and interior designers while reaffirming a vision of conscious luxury, rooted in attentive craftsmanship, chromatic research and lasting quality.

Sustainable textiles and the Slow Fiber culture

l’Opificio continues its path in the direction of responsible production. Its manufacturing processes are free from formaldehyde, heavy metals, and harmful substances, in line with a philosophy that places material quality, care for people, and product longevity at the center.

In this context, the company’s membership in the Slow Fiber network also plays an important role. Slow Fiber promotes a culture of sustainable textile production throughout the entire supply chain — a choice that strengthens l’Opificio’s commitment to a more ethical, conscious and durable approach to design.

A stand conceived as a contemporary textile laboratory

For Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, the stand design is entrusted to STUDIOTAMAT, which imagines the exhibition space as a contemporary textile laboratory.

A modular structure organizes the space with measured rhythm, while at its center a large worktable displays samples and tools, bringing fabric back to its most authentic dimension: living matter, object of research, and evolving design process.

Four side niches host selected collections in immersive settings — including bed headboards, upholstered pieces, and intimate boudoirs — allowing visitors to observe textures, depth, and color rendering across different surfaces. In this way, the visitor enters into direct contact with the product through a visual and material experience that reveals the full complexity of textile design.

A new idea of contemporary elegance

With INCISA, SIGNUM and FIORA, the restyling of the VELVET ICONS, and a stand that places the creative process at the center, l’Opificio confirms its vocation for furnishing textiles that weave together research, design culture, and manufacturing excellence.

It is a path that continues to look toward the future through materials, color, and surface, proposing a new idea of contemporary elegance: essential, conscious and deeply expressive.
