SIGNUM: Ancient Gesture Becomes Textile Language

Signum: Cotton and Viscose Lampas Designed by Chiara Andreatti

SIGNUM arises from an essential yet powerful graphic imagination, inspired by primary and archetypal signs that evoke an ancient, gestural, instinctive script. Designed by Chiara Andreatti, the collection translates this inspiration into a textile surface rich in rhythm, tension and visual presence.

The shapes, reminiscent of abstract hieroglyphs, appear doubled and slightly misaligned. This subtle shift creates an effect of visual echo and chromatic vibration, making the fabric dynamic, pulsating, never static. The sign repeats, shifts, overlaps: it becomes movement.

A Surface That Holds Memory and Energy

In SIGNUM, the sign is not decoration but structure. The composition brings together archaic memory and contemporary sensibility, building a pattern that seems to hold the gesture in order to transform it into language.

The strong contrast between colours amplifies the rhythm of the design and gives the surface an immediate expressive force. The material comes alive through a graphic language that is sharp yet vibrant, capable of bringing an intense and refined visual presence into interiors.

Lampas in Cotton and Viscose

The collection is developed as a lampas in cotton and viscose, a construction that enhances the graphic mark and supports its visual complexity with balance and precision. The fabric offers a structured hand and a chromatic depth that strengthens the identity of the collection.

Available in 9 colourways, SIGNUM offers different possibilities of interpretation while always maintaining a distinctive and recognisable character. Each tone contributes to highlighting the play of doubling, contrast and vibration, making the fabric ideal for residential and contract spaces that seek strong graphic expressiveness.

Slow Fiber Textiles, by Choice and Vision

As always, SIGNUM is part of a production path consistent with Slow Fiber values. This choice places material quality, supply-chain responsibility and a vision of textiles based on beauty, durability and awareness at its core.

It means designing fabrics that do not chase time, but move through it with coherence, technical ability and identity.

A Graphic Tension That Becomes Space

With SIGNUM, Chiara Andreatti creates a composition that brings a living, energetic, and contemporary graphic tension into interiors. The fabric welcomes the gesture and transforms it into surface, allowing memory, sign and design to speak to one another.

It is precisely in this balance between archaic and contemporary, between visual rhythm and textile precision, that SIGNUM finds its voice: a language made of traces, vibrations and character.
