When textile meets art: the “tessere visioni” installation at the turin showroom

Tessere Visioni: art and textile design in the l’opificio showroom in turin

Tessere Visioni: art, textiles and design meet in our showroom

For Turin Art Week 2025, l’Opificio unveils a special installation in its showroom at via Martiri della Libertà 42, celebrating the intersection of art, design, and fine textiles.

Starting October 28, the exhibition space transforms into a visual and tactile narrative titled Tessere Visioni, where the Trame Grafiche collection by designer Elisa Passino enters into a poetic dialogue with the contemporary photography of Carla Sutera Sardo and the expressive power of Italian design.

Where textile design meets contemporary photography

divisore

At the heart of the installation are two iconic works by Sicilian photographer Carla Sutera Sardo, Playground Love (2020) and Bloom (2023). These images resonate with the graphic motifs and colour palettes of the Trame Grafiche collection, creating a visual narrative woven from geometry, contrast, and emotional landscapes.

This immersive setup invites visitors to experience textiles in a new way—not as simple decorative elements, but as central components capable of shaping light, conveying emotion, and defining atmosphere.

Italian design: harmony between form and material

divisore

Completing the installation is a curated selection of contemporary design pieces that enrich the dialogue between art and textile:

TALK, the sculptural armchair by Mogg Design, defined by clean and essential lines

Isola, the ceramic coffee table by Portego Design, blending elegance and craftsmanship

• Rugs by Besana Carpet Lab, showcasing refined colour harmony and material depth

Together, these elements create an immersive environment where materials, colours and forms unify into a single multisensory experience.

An invitation to touch and feel the art

With Tessere Visioni, l’Opificio reaffirms its commitment to transforming contemporary living spaces into expressive and personal environments. In this exhibition, textiles become an artistic language, suggesting new ways of living between comfort, inspiration, and consciousness.

This is an installation meant to be seen, touched, and lived, inviting visitors to experience how art can not only enter the home — but remain there.

Who is Carla Sutera Sardo

divisore

CARLA SUTERA SARDO (Agrigento, 1983) developed a passion for photography during her university years between Palermo and Rome.

After an initial, self-taught approach through self-portraiture, she moved toward deeper experimentation, exploring the most unusual and untouched aspects of Sicilian nature. Over time, she refined a personal visual language that allows her to express her unique perspective through the camera.

Her artistic research focuses on women and the dialogue between bodies and landscapes, with a constant aim to create dreamlike, timeless images.

Her photographs have been featured in publications such as L’Oeil de la Photographie and Vogue Italia, and have received several awards, including the Sony World Photography Awards, the Siena Photography Awards, and the Prix de la Photographie.

Carla Sutera Sardo has exhibited her work in London, Turin, Florence, Palermo, Zhengzhou, Gibellina, Paris, and Slovenia.
