l'Opificio @61st edition of Il Salone del Mobile.Milano

Our sustainable stand

l'Opificio is taking part in the 61st edition of Il Salone del Mobile to talk about sustainability, beauty and vision presenting two new collections designed by Roberta Borelli - Makeyourhome and Bruno Tarsia.

The company, which produces luxury fabrics and velvets completely made in Italy as well as a collection of cushions and décor accessories, marks its 25th anniversary this year . Over the past quarter century, it has become one of Italy’s top textile manufacturers.

This year l'Opificio presents a stand enticing architectural features and in inspired combination of colours, designed by the architect and stylist Bruno Tarsia. Soft, flowing shapes and vivid tones invite visitors to discover unexpected perspectives; it is both a metaphor for and an exemplary staging of the added value of l’Opificio’s collections – a tangible added value made up of stylistic elegance and enduring, timeless quality.

The stand has three porthole-shaped visual elementsGrid by Roberta Borrelli and Les Intrigues by Bruno Tarsia, together with Architrame, designed by Lanzavecchia+Wai, which has become one of the brand's iconic collections. The predominant shades, Prussian blue and hematite pink, create a sophisticated play of lights and darks, heightening the three-dimensional quality of the staging. Inside, the stand abounds with colours, patterns, velvets and designer décor items covered in the brand’s fabrics, including a sofa designed byby Barbara Bertoldo – l'Opificio Art Director.

To highlight the the brand elective affinity with velvet, Bruno Tarsia put a visual focus on the Velluto di Seta collection designing a surprising vertical volume as a setting for an endless sequence of cushions that emphasizes the sophisticated colour palette.

The splendid backdrop in perfect chromatic harmony with the textile creations, wall paints designed by l'Opificio and produced by Wilson&Morris complete the scene.

The entire project has been studied in perfect continuity with the guidelines promoted this year by the Salone del Mobile.Milano.The fair organization has invited exhibitors to recycle, reuse, circularity and to guarantee safety and social sustainability, with the aim of generating an increasingly sustainable event that respect environment and people, and these same themes have always been to the company.

Since its founding in 1998, l’Opificio has made sustainability a company objective along with a particular commitment towards the environment and people. This idea is reflected in choices concerningraw materials and production processes, and in a concept of luxury goods intended as products of superior quality and durable over time, a far cry from “fast use”.

Moreover, seeking to represent positive change through a sustainable production process, l’Opificiodecided, along with other companies in the textile supply chain, to join Slow Food in creating Slow Fiber, in the belief that aesthetic high quality does not exclude respect for humans and the environment.

Therefore, it was planned with the architect Bruno Tarsia to create unprecedented scenography that will enhance the new 2023 collections, but the most important aspect is that, for the creation of the new scenic environment, we have worked in line with our principles of sustainability, reuse, recycling and energy saving, which we have always applied, and that are part of the new guidelines in terms of sustainability embraced and also indicated by the Salone del Mobile.Milano.
br> Furthermore, the company's commitment to sustainability will be highlighted in the set-up, describing the performance and environmental characteristics of the products and their life cycle.

Finally, we will not fail to communicate to everyone the intrinsic quality of our products because they are Good, Clean and Fair, according to the guidelines of Slow Fiber, the Slow Food textile supply chain network of which we are founding members.

As always, our participation in the Milan Design Week this year will see us not only at the Salone del Mobile.Milano, but also at the Fuorisalone among the companies selected by Artemest to furnish "L'Appartamento" in the 5Vie District.
