Within the heart of Salone del Mobile 2025, Villa Heritage stands as an ode to beauty and time, questioning the forms and proportions that resonate through the ages. This special project, located between halls 13 and 15, was designed by renowned French architect Pierre-Yves Rochon to delve into the deep connections between art and design.
Villa Heritage is more than an exhibition; it is an invitation to reflect on the nature of living and artistic creation. The installation serves as a retreat designed to stimulate contemplation on the deeper meanings of aesthetics and innovation.
The Salone Rosso, the vibrant heart of Villa Heritage, pays tribute to the theatricality and emotional intensity of the great Italian opera houses. Dominated by deep red hues, this space evokes the drama and elegance of historic theater halls, creating an environment of captivating beauty. At the center of the Salone Rosso, an iconic gown from La Traviata, worn by Maria Callas and designed by Luchino Visconti, is meticulously revisited by students from the Accademia della Scala, demonstrating the continuity of Italian artisanal expertise.
The salon’s decor, meticulously detailed, includes l’Opificio’s SILK VELVET cushions in red, a special edition crafted specifically for the occasion.
The entrance to Villa Heritage establishes a dialogue between architecture and contemporary design, marked by a female sculpture that symbolizes the central role of the human figure in built spaces. Large photographs by Massimo Listri enhance the soul of Italian palaces, revealing the solemnity and symmetry of the spaces through subtle plays of light and shadow.
The dining room at Villa Heritage celebrates hospitality with a deep blue shade that evokes the sea and historic trade routes. A Flemish tapestry from the 17th century serves as a visual anchor, while the interior design reflects a cultural dialogue that spans centuries.
The library focuses on the transmission of knowledge, where a historical costume worn by Maria Callas becomes a symbol of living craftsmanship. The room is enriched with elements that narrate the story of creation, from design to final assembly.
A mirror installation creates a dreamlike illusion, transforming the bathroom into a space for reflection and contemplation, while a bathtub from the 1930s evokes a sustainable and timeless luxury.
In this room, white dynamically shapes the space, interacting with elements from different eras to enhance every detail and material, supported by a sound atmosphere created by Mahler’s Adagio.
The winter garden reinvents the connection between architecture and nature, using trimmings as structural decorations and creating a dialogue between traditional and contemporary design.
The Music Salon is an ode to the interaction between sound and space, with a dome reminiscent of the Pantheon and a welcoming atmosphere ideal for listening. An Alpange piano offers a new acoustic experience, symbolizing the evolution of sound art.
